Contraindication of Halotherapy
In some cases, Halotherapy may not be suitable for individuals suffering chronic health conditions, in particular conditions that cause a person to cough blood or be on oxygen for the majority if time in a 24 hour cycle.

Contraindication of Halotherapy
The contraindications of Halotherapy may not be limited to the below mention list of condition:
- Acute stage of respiratory disease
- Cardio insufficiency / cardio myopathy / fluid retention problems
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the 3rd stage / chronic lung insufficiency (COPD)
- Unexplained bleeding from the lungs
- Expiration of blood (coughing blood)
- Hypertension in II B stage; acute kidney disease; (strict salt restricted diets)
- Tuberculosis (TB)
- Lung Cancer for which Halotherapy may be contraindicated. Lung cancer in treatment should be consulted with your practitioner before use of Halotherapy due to susceptibility of coughing blood.
- Alcohol or drug intoxication
- Halotherapy has shown to be safe and beneficial during pregnancy, but 3rd trimester women are strongly recommended to consult with a Doctor due to fluid retention and Oedema.
- Infants under 12 months.
Halotherapy will not interact with medications or cancer treatments for cancer in regions of the body other than the respiratory system. The main risk, is to individuals who may experience bronchospasm or cough blood.
